This post has been brought to you with the help of my friends at Whole Foods Market Portland. I have been compensated for my time and ingredients, but all thoughts are my own! A promise I will always keep.

I love a hot toddy. It's simple, it's yummy, and it's a perfect Maine winter warmer. And let's be honest, this winter has already shown us it's going to be a brutal one. The bourbon is a nice touch in this particular recipe, and I'm such a fun of using local spirits like this Stroudwater Distillery Bourbon. One of the Whole Foods Market Flavors of the Season in January is ginger, and I couldn't resist using it to craft a yummy cocktail. Infusing the apple cider was a great way to add a subtle but flavorful touch of ginger, all while keeping the cocktail nice and smooth. If you like a stronger ginger spice/flavor, go ahead and add the steeped mixture of cider and ginger slices to a blender, blend until smooth and strain with a cheese cloth or fine mesh strainer. There's a little more work involved, so I tend to skip that step, but it does create an excellent flavor.

You can infuse the apple cider ahead of time and keep it in your fridge for an easy grab on a snowy afternoon, or an easy cocktail for a group. Give this one a shot and let me know what you think!

Enjoy it, friends!
