Vintage Round-up January

Vintage Round-up January

A few weeks ago I took a little Instagram story poll. I wanted to know if you guys loved seeing my vintage finds just as much as I loved sharing them.

It was an overwhelming yes. I talk a lot about health and recipes on both platforms. But what's also super important for wellness is doing creative things outside of your profession and off your computer..finding inspiration outside of your norm. For me, that exists in vintage shopping. I love bringing life back into other people's discarded items. I get to use the excuse that I'm prop shopping for the blog, but I almost always find a piece of art or something neat to display in our home, or give as a gift. There's something nostalgic and inspiring about it for me. Whenever I'm in a funk, whether in work or in life, a trip to one of my favorite fleas gets me back on track.

What's your favorite way to find inspiration offline? I challenge you to get out this weekend and get back in touch with those things. Free yourself from your phone and be inspired. I promise you'll feel better and work more efficiently once you do.

So here it is, my favorite vintage finds (and some that were gifted to me, too!) in the first month of 2018:

"Old Alley Steps. Marblehead, Mass." Artist unknown. Water damage. Found in Maine. This piece of art is specifically special to me because I specifically grabbed it from a pile of dozens, and the moment I saw it I knew exactly where the stairs were located. I grew up in that area.
